Contests... as much as an admission to the UPT

"Valeriu Alaci” and the Communication Olympiads

The national competitions organized by Politehnica University Timisoara on the occasion of the ”Politehnica - a step towards your future" event are enjoying a growing popularity among the high school students who registered this year in a record number, about 1500, almost as many as for an admission exam. It is yet another proof of the appreciation of the UPT at national level.

After about a week ago about 500 students attended the first contests of the event, on April 12 - 13, 2019, another 1,000 students attended the mathematics contest ”Valeriu Alaci” (over 600 students), a competition organized by the faculties of Automation and Computing and Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, as well as at the Communication Olympiads (over 300 students), organized by the Faculty of Communication Sciences.

Hundreds of students filled the Auditorium of the UPT Conference Center at the festive opening that took place on Friday, April 12, 2019, in the presence of the representatives of the university leadership, the Timiş County School Inspectorate, the economic environment and the student organizations of UPT. On Saturday, April 13, also in the Auditorium, the award ceremony took place at the Communication Olympiads, an online competition. The written test of the ”Valeriu Alaci” Mathematics Competition was scheduled on Saturdays, April 13, 2019, in the Amphitheaters of Politehnica University Timisoara, in the afternoon of the same day taking place the award ceremony, divided by sections.

Those who obtained the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prizes at the 8 national competitions organized by Politehnica University Timişoara can be admitted without attending the admission examination, provided, of course, that they pass the baccalaureate exam.
