After winning the prize for the best bridge model last year, the students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering within Politehnica University TImisoara recently participated in the seventh edition of the CADRE student competition – wood truss and bridge model competition – organized by the Faculty of Railroads, Roads and Bridges within the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, via Microsoft Teams.
Four teams attended the competition on behalf of the Faculty of Civil Engineering within Politehnica Timisoara, made up of third-, fourth- and master second-year students. The teams are:
The students were coordinated by members of the faculty: assoc. prof. dr. eng. Adrian Bota, Ph.D., prof. dr. eng. Sorin Dan, Ph.D., lecturer dr. eng. Luminița Fekete-Nagy, Ph.D., and directly led by dr. eng. Viorel-Constantin Todea and Ph.D. student Maura Vioreanu, respectively, on behalf of the CCI Department.
The four UPT teams showed dedication, seriousness, team spirit and innovation in their model designs. Despite the competition being fierce, with teams from renowned technical universities in Romania participating, team “MELBIA” won the first place.
