A champion T-shirt offered to the UPT rector

Benjamin Bodo - recently became a national fencing foil champion

Benjamin Bodo, legitimated at CSU Politehnica and a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering within Politehnica University Timișoara, recently became a national fencing foil champion. On Friday, March 12, 2021, he offered the champion's shirt to the rector of Politehnica University Timișoara, associate professor eng. Florin Drăgan, Ph.D., in appreciation for the support that UPT gives to university sports.

The fencers from CSU Politehnica Timișoara returned with a remarkable record from the National Fencing Championship: one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Benjamin Bodo managed to get the silver in a trial in which he is not specialized - the saber!

The next important international fencing competition is the World University Championship, which will take place during the summer in China.

The fencing section of CSU Poli managed two great performances in 2019, when the women's foil team ranked 4th in the European Cup, the most important continental interclub competition, and the men's foil team won the Romanian Cup.

The president of the fencing department is Valentin Niţă, a professor at UPT, a member of the Executive Committee of the Romanian Fencing Federation, but also a legitimate fencer at CSU Poli!
