A new student dormitory for Politehnica University Timișoara
Politehnica University Timișoara has always been concerned with ensuring the best conditions, both for the teaching and research process and for guaranteeing accommodation, meals, library services, or sports facilities.
The National Investment Company recently approved the technical-economic indicators for the construction of a new student dormitory, near the Research Institute for Renewable Energies (ICER), str. Gavril Muzicescu no. 138, Timișoara, which will be used by master students, doctoral students, and young researchers of Politehnica University Timișoara, many of their activities being carried out within ICER.
The new dormitory will be built as GF+2, on UPT property. It will have a built-up surface of 1931 sqm and a total unfolded surface of 5912.5 sqm. In the 123 accommodation units in normal regime, to which are added 5 units for people with disabilities, a maximum of 275 people can be accommodated. The rooms, with an area of 21-25 square meters, are with two beds, with a private bathroom, and on the halls, there are common reading spaces, kitchenettes, and laundries.
The total value of the investment is almost 30 million lei, of which the contribution of the National Investment Company is 29,023,861.68 lei, and that of Politehnica University Timișoara is 891,743.34 lei. In the near future, the tender for the design and execution of the project will be launched.
