Multiple medals for UPT at the EUROINVENT 2020 International Salon

Politehnica University Timisoara participated, between 21 and 23 May 2020, at the online edition of the International Salon EUROINVENT 2020 with 20 inventions, research projects, educational programs, doctoral theses, teaching stands, and even weekend inventions, obtaining 32 awards and diplomas, as follows: 8 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 2 bronze medals, 3 diplomas of excellence and 12 special awards. Also, Politehnica University Timișoara was rewarded with the EUROINVENT 2020 Popularity Award, awarded for the diversity, applicability, innovative spirit of the inventions presented at the EUROINVENT 2020 International Salon.

The international jury at EUROINVENT 2020 appreciated the following aspects:

• The diversity, novelty, applicability, and impact on the environment of the 20 inventions, research projects, educational programs, doctoral theses, teaching stands and weekend inventions of the team of Politehnica University Timișoara;
• The international collaboration of UPT researchers with academic institutions and the business environment for the development and realization of research projects;
• Recycling of ferrous materials, respectively municipal waste of powder type, with impact on the environment;
• The collaboration of Politehnica University Timișoara with the CorneliuGroup Association in the educational program “DEXTER” Laboratory to involve and support UPT students for the realization of teaching stands;
• Increasing the performance of DRIFT cars by implementing Over-Suction Air Filters (ECODrift program) to reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions;
• Realization and development of products from the Weekend Inventions category (SeptoBirCor disinfectant, AIR by CORNELIU soap) to prevent and combat the spread of Coronavirus.

The awards, medals, and diplomas were obtained by Politehnica University Timisoara for the following:

3. SILVER Medal, CNMN Special Award - Analysis of the fluid dynamic behavior through the air collector following the installation of pressure outlets - Robert Bucevschi, Ana Socalici, Adina Budiul Berghian, Corneliu Birtok Băneasă;
4. GOLD Medal, ULBS Special Award - DRIFT super-aspirating air filter - Corneliu Birtok Băneasă;
5. Diploma of Excellence, USU Special Award - Educational program DEXTER’S laboratory - Corneliu Birtok Băneasă;
6. SILVER Medal, UTC Special Prize - CP4 experimental stand-DEXTER Laboratory - Corneliu Birtok Băneasă, Tudor Dinu Ioniță, Adina Budiul Berghian;

19. Gold Medal, Special UPB Award - Method for treatment of municipal solid waste incineration residues by stabilization/solidification into fly ash rock - Reinhold WÄCHTER, Ioana IONEL, Adina NEGREA;
20. GOLD MEDAL, UTC Special Prize - Novel modular stack design for high-PREssure PEM water elecTrolyZer tEchnoLogy with wide operation range and reduced cost PRETZEL.
