The first Azerbaijan-Romania Inter-University Forum took place in Baku during the 24th and 25th of May. Romania was represented by a delegation made up of rectors and vice-rectors from the 10 most important Romanian universities, led by Gigel Paraschiv, State Secretary within the Romanian Ministry of Education.
Politehnica University Timisoara was represented by Mr. Marius Oteșteanu, vice-rector at UPT. He took part in discussions which sought to analyse the cooperation perspectives between Politehnica University Timisoara and Azerbaijani educational institutions.
“We have visited Baku Engineering University and Azerbaijan Technical University, and partnerships were developed for students and professors mobilities. After the meetings we hope to expand our collaboration and find ways to finance the exchange of professors and students.” said Professor Marius Oteșteanu, PhD.
We are here with a ministerial delegation to represent the Romanian universities. The invitation came from the Embassy of Romania, which, togehter with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, respectively the Ministry of National Education of Romania have organized talks about the challenges and concerns in education. Moreover, the Ambassador of Romania in Azerbaijan mentioned that the universities’ representatives intend to focus on the educational and cultural relationships between the two countries.
In fact, an Erasmus + agreement between the Politehnica University Timisoara and Khazar University of Azerbaijan was signed on this visit.
