The Days of Portuguese Culture brought a double event to the Central Library of Politehnica University Timişoara on May 10 and 11, 2018. On the one hand, as a result of the collaboration with the Instituto Camões of the Portuguese Language Center, a series of four documentaries by Portuguese journalist Candida Pinto, who was also present at the event, were designed at BCUPT. On the other hand, an exhibition of architecture was also opened in the lobby of the UPT Central Library.

Four neighborhoods, four documentaries, an architect: Siza Vieira in Os Vizinhos (Neighbors), is the four short documentary series, specially made for the pavilion of the Venice Architecture Biennial by Portuguese journalist Candida Pinto. The documentaries are centered on the well-known Portuguese architect Siza Vieira, who in the 1980s built four social quarters in four cities in Europe: Porto (Bouça), Venice (Campo di Marte), Hague (Shilderswijk), Berlin (Bonjour Tristesse ). In Candida Pinto's documentaries, Siza Vieira returns to these neighborhoods and talks to the current tenants to find out if the architectural solutions he proposed thirty years ago are viable today.

The "City, Tourism and Architecture" exhibition, organized in BCUPT Hall, was made available by the Architects Order of the South Regional Section, Lisbon.

The event was received with a real interest in the Timişoara public, especially students in Architecture, but also other people interested in Portuguese culture and architecture.
