UPT has signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Oviedo

Politehnica University Timisoara has recently expanded its collaboration with similar institutions in Spain. Thus, having already initiated collaborations with universities Madrin and Barcelona, UPT signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Oviedo, Spain, an institution with a long tradition, since the beginning of the 17th century.

On June 20th, 2018, a delegation from the University of Oviedo, consisting of its rector, prof. Santiago Garcia Granda, PhD, and vice-rector prof. Francisco Jose Borge Lopez, PhD, paid a visit to the UPT Rectorate, where he was received by the rector of the university, prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel Şerban, PhD, and vice-rectors prof. eng. Daniel Dan, PhD, and prof. eng. Marius Oteşteanu, PhD.

During the talks, issues have been raised concerning possible cooperation between the two universities, targeting research, exchange of students and teachers in the specific programs and collaboration for the three cycles of training: BA, MA, PhD.

There have been identified a number of common concerns of both universities, so a cooperation agreement aimed at facilitating student exchanges, exchanges of teachers for teaching activities and research, collaboration in scientific and academic activities or exchange of information, didactic and scientific materials was signed.

University of Oviedo, the only one in the Asturias region, has 17 faculties and about 25,000 students enrolled, over 2,000 professors and researchers, 800 international students and has seven campuses and research facilities in Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres.
