# Trashtagchallenge in Timisoara

Students in the ETc League have garbage mountains

#Trashtagchallenge a challenge that became viral on social networks worldwide, has arrived in Timisoara, thanks to students from UPT. #trashtagchallenge is the challenge of cleaning the nature by collecting trash. Those who participate in this challenge take a photo of a garbage-filled place and another photo of the same cleaned place. Basically, it's a photo collage of the place before and after cleaning. #Trashtagchallenge generated a lot of posts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

The Students’ Organization from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering and Information Technologies, shortly LSFETc, proposed to launch this movement in Timişoara. On Saturday, March 23, 2019, 18 volunteers from the LSFETc organization took care of their work, their location being Street Lieutenant Ovidiu Balea in Timisoara. The 18 volunteers have collected 40 120L sacks, packed with garbage. The action lasted about 1 hour and a half.

Through this action LSFETc wants to convey to all people that change begins with us, with each one. Some begin to be better citizens, more responsible and to rise to the height of the expectations we have from others.

But here are some of the opinions of volunteer students:

Waleed Nassar (LSFETc volunteer, fourth year - ETcTI): "It was a great experience, we had a great activity, through which we once again lived the volunteering experience. I left with satisfaction that you're doing something because you want to, not because you're bound to."

Casian Sbanţu (voluntary LSFETc, third year - ETcTI): "For me it was a good experience because I was able to show us how important the environment is and also to draw attention to excessive pollution. #Schimbareaincepecunoi "

Claudia Bugbena (voluntary LSFETc, fourth year - ETcTI): "It was great to be able to really see the difference between beginning with that garbage everywhere, and finally, when all was clean. It's beautiful especially when you know you have contributed to such a result. Plus, teamwork and cleaning a large area in a fairly short time".
