Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to UPT
The leadership of Politehnica University Timisoara received on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, the visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bucharest, His Excellency Mr. Kim Eun-joong, accompanied by Mr. Ioan Coriolan Garboni, the director of the Banat Philharmonic and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Timisoara.
The guests wished to have discussions with the UPT leadership on academic cooperation. More specifically, the ambassador of Korea has presented the intention of several technical universities in the country he represents to collaborate with Politehnica University Timisoara on all academic levels, bachelor, master, doctorate, research, teaching staff and student exchanges.
The guests were received by the UPT rector prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel Şerban, PhD, and by the vice-rector responsible with international relations, prof. eng. Marius Oteşteanu, PhD. Together they visited Pro Memoria Hall, where the paintings of the UPT Rectors were exhibited, from the founding until now, as well as documents that prove the history and tradition of the Timisoara Polytechnic.
Moreover, Politehnica University Timisoara signed, on June 6, 2018, a memorandum of cooperation with Chonbuk National University of South Korea, an event that took place at the headquarters of the Romanian Academy, the Timisoara branch.
The Memorandum signed by Politehnica University Timisoara with the Chonbuk National University provides a general framework for collaboration, followed by a bilateral agreement on cooperation on several areas: student exchanges under Erasmus+ programs, teacher exchanges, joint research projects, organization of joint conferences, seminars or symposiums, information exchange in the academic or scientific field.
