Chair exhibition and an invitation to read at the UPT Library

The central lobby of the UPT Library hosted the opening of the fifth edition of the “Sit With Me” exhibition. The event was organized by the sixth-year students from the Faculty of Architecture and City Planning within Politehnica University Timișoara and the displayed works are their projects for the Interior decoration class.

For their interior decoration projects, the students coordinated by professors Cristina Povian and Camil Mincu set out to design a small, ergonomic seat for a comfortable reading space in a library or at home.

The students were challenged to let their imaginations run wild and create chairs that fit into this year’s edition - “Sit With Me in a Library”, be it a home or a university library. The choice of shape, colors and materials had been left to the students and, thus, a wide array of materials were used, such as wood, metal, carton, polystyrene, plexiglass, ropes, plastic, pipes, and even lichen.

The event held 40 projects and the students presented their works, the concept they started with and the difficulties they had encountered along the way.

The exhibition is open between January 13 - 31.2022.
