Evaluation of study programs in German

DAAD supports the establishment of a master's degree at UPT

On 9-10 April 2019, Politehnica University Timişoara received the DAAD Evaluation Commission visit, which came to verify how the funding it provides annually (about 30,000 euros) is used for the good functioning of the Department of Civil Engineering with teaching in German from the Faculty of Civil Engineering within UPT. Overall, the funding provided by DAAD to Politehnica University Timișoara in almost 30 years of collaboration amounts to approximately 800,000 euros.

The Commission, made up of prof. eng. Ulrich Gross, PhD, from TU Freiberg, prof. Frank Golczewski, PhD, of the University of Hamburg, and Mr. Peter Hiller, DAAD Evaluator, visited the Faculty of Civil Engineering, attended classes taught in German, spoke with students, graduates and teaching staff. Even if the final report has not yet been drafted, the result of the evaluation is positive.

On April 9, 2019, the commission was received at the Rectorate of Politehnica University Timișoara by the head of the institution, prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel Şerban, PhD - Rector and prof. eng. Daniel Dan, PhD – vice-rector, who also discussed the possibility of new cooperation directions that DAAD could support.

In this sense, the possibility of supporting a master's degree in the field of civil engineering, in German, has been advanced, which offers students the possibility to continue at a higher level the studies after obtaining the Bachelor's degree in the Civil Engineering Department with German teaching.
