Students from the Faculty of Engineering in Hunedoara at Politehnica University Timișoara will be able to deepen their practical studies with the help of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. On April 2, 2019, in the presence of UPT vice-rector assoc. prof. eng. Florin Dragan, PhD, the leadership of the faculty, teachers and students, took place the inauguration of the new laboratory donated by the Philips Orăştie Factory worth 65,000 euros. The event was also attended by representatives of the Philips City Hall.
With the help of these equipments, the Hunedorean students will familiarize themselves with state-of-the-art technological processes in the faculty.
The new facilities consist of a laboratory with electric drives and a stand of flexible and robotic lines, being unique in the country, said prof. eng. Caius Pănoiu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Hunedoara.
The lab has two parts, one is the electric drive section, where there are seven modules, all connected to the computer, with which the students do different works in the field of electric control. Each module can accomodate up to 10 projects, and you can see on these modules how the actual product works. The second laboratory is on the side of flexible and robotic lines, it is a 4.0 generation plant.
The Flexible and Robotic Line Stand will give students the ability to observe an entire automated flow of technology from the time it is programmed to delivering products to customers.
