Politehnica University Timişoara has, during this summer holiday, as always, made efforts to ensure the best conditions, both for accommodation and for study, for its students. On the last few days of vacation, just before the beginning of the new academic year, three new laboratories were inaugurated to prepare the students.

At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, within the Materials Science discipline, an optical microscopy laboratory was set up, with investments from the university's own revenues and the efforts of the teaching staff of the Department of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering. The laboratory has been equipped with optical and electronic microscopes and with a number of new specialized installations or installations used so far only for research. The new facilities will benefit over 500 students from the Mechanical Engineering and Management in Production and Transportation Faculties.

"Practically, this laboratory we have now is primarily a didactic one, because it is dedicated to students from material science disciplines. In recent years we have more advanced research equipment, so we can now teach students on the devices on which, until now, only research has been done", said the Rector of Politehnica University Timisoara, present at the event.

Two other laboratories, one of linguistics and one of interpretation, were arranged at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, equipped from the Institutional Development Fund and proprietary funds of the university, the total value of the investment being about 75,000 euros. The project is large and aims at increasing the visibility and internationalization of Politehnica University Timisoara and externally, on the centenary anniversary.

"During the summer we were concerned about making investments at the Faculty of Communication Sciences. These are two modern laboratories that offer special conditions for study and research", said prof.eng. Daniel Dan, PhD, Vice-Rector of UPT.

The Faculty of Communication Sciences celebrates this year 25 years since its inception and is concerned with the professional development of its students. The old facilities have deteriorated, but now, as a result of the investments made, the didactic training is surely up to the highest standards.
