The students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering within Politehnica University Timișoara have the opportunity to obtain scholarships of 1000 lei/month from the National Company for Road Infrastructure Management (CNAIR). A collaboration protocol in this regard was signed, at the end of last week, by Mrs. Mariana Ioniță, general director of CNAIR, and the rector of Politehnica University Timișoara, associate professor Florin Dragan, Ph.D.

The newly signed protocol involves the organization of internships for students of years III and IV within the Faculty of Civil Engineering within UPT with regional structure DRDP Timisoara. The selected students will receive monthly scholarships worth 1,000 lei, will take part in public information or promotion events on CNAIR projects, will participate in the development of research topics in the field of road infrastructure construction and joint symposia and scientific communications will be organized, etc.

Students who have graduated the second year of studies will present at the beginning of the academic year a file containing the following documents: the school situation after each exam session (the annual average of the grades must be at least 7.00); recommendation from the faculty; a document from the faculty regarding the structure of the academic year. The files for obtaining the scholarships are submitted at the CNAIR headquarters until November 1 of each year. Applications will be reviewed by November 10 of each year.

"We want to attract as many young people as possible to the profession of engineer, so to the faculties civil engineering and we will train them both on construction sites, as well as in our offices, in project management, in addition to the scholarships we provide to deserving students. We want to introduce in the school curriculum some courses dedicated to the implementation of projects, such as those related to public procurement, project management, to train real experts who can join us on the first day after graduation. We have a great need for engineers", said Mrs. Mariana Ioniță, general director of CNAIR.

"This year we had a considerable increase in the number of high school graduates who opted for the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Besides, we also have the Faculty of Management in Production and Transport, and the particular courses can be held there as well. From this point of view, Politehnica University Timișoara can be considered a partner of the Government and CNAIR", said assoc. prof. Florin Dragan, Ph.D., rector of Politehnica University Timisoara.
