The auction for the new UPT student dormitory has been launched

Improving the material base has always been a goal of Politehnica University Timișoara. From its establishment until now, ensuring the best conditions for teaching, auxiliary or research activities has been a permanent concern of all management of the institution.

The construction of the new student dormitory on Gavril Musicescu Street 138 (extension of the building of the Research Institute for Renewable Energies - ICER), objective developed through the investment program of the National Investment Company, for which, in autumn 2020, the technical-economic indicators were approved.

Now the procedure for awarding the design, technical assistance from the designer, and execution of works contract for the Objective Student Home Construction - an extension to the existing ICER building has been launched. The new building will be used by masters, doctoral students, and young researchers of Politehnica Timișoara University, many of their activities being carried out within ICER.

The new dormitory will be built a Gf + 2, on UPT land, will have a built-up area of ​​1931 sqm and a total developed area of ​​5912.5 sqm. In the 123 accommodation units in the normal regime, to which are added 5 units for people with disabilities, a maximum of 275 people can be accommodated. The rooms, with an area of ​​21-25 square meters, are with two beds, with private bathroom, and on the halls, there are common reading spaces, kitchenettes, and laundries.

The estimated value of the investment is 20,596,628.13 lei, excluding VAT. Until February 8, 2021, any bids can be submitted, followed by their evaluation by the National Investment Company, which is the main financier of the project. The execution term provided in the specifications is 2 months for the design part and 12 months for the execution part, the minimum warranty granted to the works being 36 months.
