The status of the Career Days, at Politehnica University Timișoara
Politehnica University Timișoara, through the Career Counseling and Guidance Center (CCOC), organized, on October 28-29, 2020, the 17th edition of the most important career fair in the west of the country - Career Days, an event dedicated to students and graduates interested in the opportunities offered by companies (internships, internships, part-time or full-time jobs). Additionally, the action aimed at strengthening the partnerships between the economic environment and the university.
During the conferences, presentations and round tables organized online, students were able to go live with company representatives to find out what the news is, but also the requirements of the companies and were able to apply for career offers in the virtual stands. At the end of each conference, a raffle was organized, the prize consisting of a tablet.
Over 2000 participants were registered during the two days of the career fair. The number is lower than in the previous editions, held physically, at the UPT Cafeteria but, taking into account the special conditions in which it took place, it can be considered a success. The number of companies, but also their offers, have been reduced compared to previous editions, taking into account the fact that not all jobs or internship offers are suitable for the online environment. On the other hand, students take online courses at home during this period, so the online presentation of career opportunities has been more than beneficial. It is also appreciated that companies have adapted their job or practice options to the new realities imposed by the pandemic, by transferring them to the online environment.
