Politehnica University Timișoara will participate in a project within the Erasmus+ KA203 program, which has as main objective the academic certification of the qualification of easy-to-read resource validator (easy-to-read validator) among people with intellectual disabilities. The Train2Validate project will run for three years and be implemented by a consortium of 7 partners from 5 European Union member countries, under the coordination of the Spanish NGO Plena Inclusión Madrid. The project aims to create a professional profile of the validator of resources in an accessible format that contributes to the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities by facilitating access to formal education and increasing employability.

The Train2Validate project was selected in the Erasmus+ KA203 program due to its increased contribution to reducing inequalities in accessing formal education by promoting innovative social practices. The project aims to develop a professional profile of the validator and facilitator of accessible materials and develop educational resources dedicated to the validation and improvement of "easy to read" materials.

Plena Inclusión Madrid, a Spanish NGO that promotes increasing the quality of life of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, coordinates this project involving six partners from 5 EU countries: international universities Hochschule SDI Munich (Germany), Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici Pisa (Italy) and Politehnica University Timișoara (Romania), which offers study programs in the field of translation and interpretation, the NGO Zavod RISA (Slovenia), activist for the rights of people with intellectual disabilities, the NGO Professional Foundation (Romania), promoter of lifelong learning and social inclusion of people with disabilities, and the European Qualification and Certification Association ECQA (Austria), which offers international professional certification.

Through the activities carried out, the project partners strive to generate sustainable, high-impact results, which will be presented periodically, within 5 dissemination events organized in each participating country.

In short, the Train2Validate project seeks to recognize the qualifications of validator and facilitator for easy-to-read materials, as well as the creation of a coherent and unitary curriculum for this new specialization, certified at the European level.

The research team of Politehnica University Timișoara is coordinated by professor Daniel Dejica-Carțiș, Ph.D., and is made up of associate professors Simona Șimon, Ph.D., Marcela Fărcașiu, Ph.D., and lecturer Annamaria Kilyeni, Ph.D., from the Department of Communication and Foreign Languages, Faculty of Communication Sciences.
