University ethics

Ethics is at the heart of academic life at UPT, built on respect, fairness and responsibility towards others. The Ethics Committee safeguards the university’s integrity, helping ensure that the entire academic community operates in an environment of trust and mutual respect.

University ethics

A community built on values

Integrity, respect and responsibility are part of UPT’s culture. Our Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct guides all aspects of university life: how we teach, conduct research and publish, as well as our day-to-day interactions within the academic community.

We are guided by clear principles: academic and professional integrity, respect and non-discrimination, transparency and accountability, respect for intellectual property, impartiality and confidentiality.

Our principles

Academic and professional integrity
Respect and non-discrimination
Transparency and accountability
Respect for intellectual property
Impartiality and confidentiality

The Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee is an independent body that oversees compliance with these principles. It receives reports, examines potential breaches and makes recommendations or proposes sanctions, helping to maintain an environment based on trust and fairness.
