Admission for Olympiad and competition award winners
At UPT, we believe that hard work and excellence deserve recognition and support. On this page, you can find all the admission benefits available to high school students who have distinguished themselves in Olympiads and competitions.
UPT rewards performance
You can benefit from special admission conditions if you are among the high school students who have received awards at:
- National Olympiads recognised by the Ministry of Education;
- International Olympiads (official medals and awards);
- Other competitions included in the UPT list (see below).
Admission with a guaranteed grade of 10
If you have received first, second or third prize at an international Olympiad or at certain subject-specific competitions, you are directly admitted to UPT: your achievement is recognised as a grade of 10 in the admission process.
Admission exam components graded as 10
If you have received first, second or third prize at the county stage of an Olympiad or have received an honourable mention at certain subject-specific competitions, the grade for certain components of the admission examination may be recognised as 10.
Check whether your award is eligible
The list of eligible Olympiads and competitions varies from one faculty to another. Visit the page of the degree programme you are interested in to see exactly which Olympiads are recognised for UPT admission and the specific requirements for each field.

How admission works for Olympiad and competition award winners
If you have achieved outstanding results in recognised Olympiads or competitions, you may be admitted to UPT without an entrance exam, in accordance with the regulations in force.
The process is simple and transparent, but it is important to complete each step correctly.
1. Choosing your field of study
Once you decide what you want to study at UPT, check the admission timeline to see the application and place confirmation periods. Please note that registration and confirmation periods may vary from one faculty to another.
You can choose any faculty at UPT, provided that the chosen field of study is relevant to the subject in which you received your award. For example, an award in Informatics can be used for admission to a degree programme in the IT field.
2. Online registration
Registration for the admission process is completed through our dedicated platform, Enroll.
Complete the online application form, pay the registration fee and upload the documents proving your achievement (diploma, certificate or official confirmation).
3. Confirmation of the grade equivalence
After our team verifies the validity of the uploaded documents, you will receive confirmation of the grade equivalence, depending on the level of achievement obtained:
- equivalence of the overall admission grade with 10;
- equivalence of an admission exam component with the grade 10, according to the methodology of each faculty.
4. Confirming your place
After the results are published, confirm your place according to the admission timeline.
Confirmation is completed by paying the enrolment fee and submitting the original study documents at the admission office.
