Movement, energy and an active campus life

Sport is part of everyday life at UPT. Whether you want to run, do strength training, play basketball with your classmates or go swimming, you have access to sports grounds, gyms and swimming pools, with free access available to students and the UPT community.

Some facilities are used for Physical Education and Sports classes, while many are also available for leisure activities, both to the UPT community and to local residents who want to stay active.

Sports Complex 1 

Just a short walk from the UPT Library, you will find a spacious sports complex that is easy to access and ideal for an active break between classes. It includes a strength training gym, jogging and fitness areas, as well as sports grounds used for UPT classes.

The athletics track is free to use for UPT students and staff, as well as the university’s performance teams and groups. Members of the wider community may use the track subject to a membership fee. For the timetable, access conditions and fees for using the athletics track, please consult the regulations:

Sports Complex 2

Most sports classes and recreational activities take place at Sports Complex 2 ( Professor Doctor Aurel Păunescu Podeanu Street, No. 2). The complex includes:

  • An indoor swimming pool;
  • An outdoor swimming pool;
  • An indoor sports hall for tennis, basketball and volleyball;
  • Two grass football pitches;
  • A covered five-a-side football pitch;
  • A covered handball court;
  • Four floodlit tennis courts with asphalt or tartan surfaces;
  • Two basketball courts;
  • Fitness equipment;
  • A sauna.

To access some facilities at Sports Complex 2 (the grass football pitch, tennis courts, sports dome and sports hall), you must submit a request to the UPT Registry Office (UPT Rectorate, Piața Victoriei, No. 2 ground floor). Download the template below:

Health services

Student Polyclinic

You have access to student medical services close to campus. The UPT Student Polyclinic (Aleea Studenților, No. 1), part of the Outpatient Clinic of the “Pius Brînzeu” County Emergency Clinical Hospital, provides medical consultations and healthcare support throughout your studies. Medical services are free of charge if you are insured as a student.

Consultations are available in the following specialties:

  • Surgery;
  • Dermatology;
  • General medicine;
  • Internal medicine and ultrasound examinations;
  • Ear, nose and throat medicine (ENT);
  • Family planning;
  • Psychiatry;
  • Dentistry.

For your appointment, you will need your identity document and health insurance card. For specialist consultations, you will also need a referral from your faculty doctor or family doctor (General Practitioner).

Mental health and wellbeing

Your years as a student can bring significant changes, a fast-paced routine and periods of stress. It is normal to go through times when you do not feel well and need support.

At the Career Counselling and Guidance Centre (CCOC), you can speak with a psychological counsellor who can help you find solutions that work for you.

Our counsellors can help you:

  • Manage stress, anxiety and emotional difficulties;
  • Adapt to university life;
  • Work through challenges related to motivation, organisation or relationships;
  • Find a balance between your studies, personal life and rest.

It is okay to ask for help. Support is available, free and confidential.
