UPT is part of E³UDRES², a European university alliance that brings together innovative universities from nine countries to advance education, research and smart, sustainable regional development.
A network of universities shaping Europe’s future
E³UDRES² (Engaged and Entrepreneurial European University as Driver for Smart and Sustainable Regions) is an alliance of nine European universities committed to open, collaborative education and to helping make regions smarter, more sustainable and better connected.
The alliance focuses on three strategic areas:
- Circular economy;
- Human contribution to artificial intelligence;
- Well-being and active ageing.
Together, the nine partner universities bring together more than 10,000 staff and 100,000 students, forming a shared European campus for collaborative and sustainable education.
E³UDRES² is one of the European Universities alliances supported by the European Commission through the European Universities initiative.

They can also launch challenges and educational initiatives and develop applied projects and Living Labs together with the partner universities.
UPT’s role in the alliance
UPT’s membership of E³UDRES² strengthens its role as an active European university in education, research and innovation. We contribute through joint educational programmes, interdisciplinary projects and international events involving students and staff, while also developing new European partnerships and initiatives, including micro-credentials and projects under Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.
