About bachelor’s degree studies

Depending on the faculty and field of study chosen, a bachelor’s degree programme can last 3, 4 or 6 years, divided into semesters.

At UPT’s 10 faculties, you can choose from over 40 bachelor’s degree fields. In the final years of your studies, depending on your interests and results, you will follow a specialisation that shapes your professional path.

Depending on your passions, personal and professional development goals, and the flexibility of your study programme, you will choose:

• the faculty and field of study;
• the language of study (Romanian, English or German);
• the study format: full-time education (IF), part-time education (IFR) or distance learning (ID);
• access to tuition-free or fee-paying studies.

A bachelor’s degree field can include one or more specialisations.

You begin your studies in a broad field, such as “Chemical Engineering” or “Civil Engineering”. Depending on your interests and involvement during the first years, in the later years of your bachelor’s degree programme you will continue with a specialisation within that field, for example “Inorganic Substances Engineering and Environmental Protection” or “Railways, Roads and Bridges”.

This structure allows you to explore the foundations of the field before choosing your specific direction.

Admission to UPT bachelor’s degree programmes is based on an admission competition. Depending on the faculty and field of study you choose, the admission process may include the evaluation of your application file, written or online tests, or the presentation of a portfolio of achievements.

Bachelor’s degree studies involve certain costs, from admission fees, tuition fees (if you are admitted to a fee-paying place) and accommodation fees, if you choose to live in a student residence. These are added to the money you will need for study materials and daily living expenses.

We understand that this is a financial effort for you and your family, which is why we do our best to support you. During your bachelor’s degree studies, we support your performance and determination to continue your studies through various types of scholarships: performance scholarships, social scholarships, Erasmus+ mobility scholarships and private scholarships.

At UPT, student life means much more than lectures. You prepare for your career from the very beginning of your studies through practical training, internships and innovative projects. Competitions, social events, sports activities, volunteering and community involvement opportunities, as well as international study mobilities, complete your experience.

After completing your bachelor’s degree studies and successfully passing your exams and bachelor’s thesis defence, your academic journey can continue with a master’s degree programme.

In addition to our full-time bachelor’s degree programmes, you also have distance learning or part-time learning options. Choose the study format that suits you, your schedule and your lifestyle.
