Study duration
Depending on the faculty and field of study chosen, a master’s degree programme lasts 2 years, divided into semesters.
Options
Depending on your passions, personal and professional development goals, and the flexibility of your study programme, you can choose:
- the faculty and specialisation;
- the language of study (Romanian or English);
- access to tuition-free or fee-paying studies.
Professional or research master’s degree
In our range of master’s degree programmes, you will find two types of master’s degrees:
- Professional master’s degree: prepares you for rapid integration into the labour market, with a focus on practical skills and concrete applications in a specific field;
- Research master’s degree: develops academic and scientific skills, being the right choice if you wish to continue with a doctoral programme or contribute to the advancement of research in your field.
Admission
Admission to UPT master’s degree programmes is based on an admission competition. Depending on the faculty and programme you choose, the admission process may take place online or face to face and may include tests such as portfolio presentation or an interview.
Costs and scholarships
Master’s degree studies involve certain costs, from admission fees, tuition fees (if you are admitted to a fee-paying place) and accommodation fees, if you choose to live in a student residence. These are added to the money you will need for study materials and daily living expenses.
We understand that this is a financial effort for you and your family, which is why we do our best to support you. During your master’s degree studies, we support your performance and determination to continue your studies through various types of scholarships: performance, merit and social scholarships, Erasmus+ mobility scholarships, and scholarships offered by partner companies.
Student life

What comes after your master’s degree
After completing your master’s degree studies and successfully passing your exams and master’s thesis defence, you obtain a master’s degree diploma in your chosen specialisation. If you wish, your academic journey can continue with a doctoral programme.
