Practical training
Practical training gives you the opportunity to apply what you learn in your courses and see how work is carried out in your field. On this page, you can find out how practical training is organised at UPT and what you need to do to make the most of this experience.

Relevant experiences for your future
Practical training is an integral part of your studies at UPT and your professional development. Practical training placements give you the opportunity to apply what you learn in your courses and see how work is carried out in your field.
Not only do you test your skills in real-life contexts and discover what suits you best, but you also have the opportunity to connect with future employers.
How practical training is organised
1. Choose your practical training placement
You can complete your practical training at one of UPT’s partner companies or at another organisation approved by your faculty. We regularly update the list of practical training partners, so make sure to check back for the latest information.
2. Complete the required documents
Before starting your practical training, you need to prepare several documents:
- Practical training agreement (mandatory);
- Presentation letter from the faculty, if required;
- Other documents specific to your study programme, at the request of your faculty’s practical training coordinator.
You can find all templates below, in the Documents and forms section.
3. Complete your practical training placement
Follow the schedule established together with your practical training coordinator and the partner company, and make the most of this period as a valuable professional experience.
Throughout the placement, record the activities you carry out and any other professional observations in your Practical training logbook.
4. Complete and report your practical training placement
At the end of the placement:
- Request the Practical training certificate and Evaluation form, completed and signed by the practical training supervisor from the organisation where you completed your placement.
- Submit the documents to your faculty’s practical training coordinator.
After validation, your practical training activity is officially recognised as part of your study plan.
Practical training partners
Our university collaborates with numerous companies and public institutions across various fields: IT, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, architecture and others. The list of practical training partners is updated regularly.
If you find a practical training placement yourself, make sure it is approved by your faculty before signing the documents.
Documents and forms
The forms for student practical training can be completed digitally or printed, depending on the requirements of each faculty. Your faculty will provide you with all the instructions regarding the practical training process and the required documents.
